sang at school proms and college dances

1927 - Bandleader Joe Haymes, changed the name of McMichael brothers to Personality Boys

1930 - Changed their name to the Merry Macs and added Cheri McKay

1932 - Merry Macs first live performance at the Chicago Theatre
and the commencement of their appearances on Don McNeil's "Breakfast Club"
program several times a week under the NBC Radio contract





1934 - The Merry Macs with Cheri McKay



1936-1937: The Merry Macs appeared with Ray Noble in Canada
Lynn Martin is part of the Merry Macs until the latter part of 1937


1937 - The Merry Macs now with Helen Carroll to sing melody performed on NBC's
national network show, "The Maxwell House Showboat Program," and "Lucky Strike Hit Parade

1936-37: - Merry Macs in the "Fred Allen's Town Hall Tonight,"
where a single performance blossomed into a three-year contract


1938 - The Merry Macs appeared in Love Thy Neighbor,
starring Jack Benny and Fred Allen
The Merry Macs became the first close-harmony group to show up in a Hollywood film
